So, what's the specialty in your part of the world?

I live in Florida, USA and I don't even know what they're famous for....what do you think Natika? Aligator tail?

Well I found it right away, no headaches here

The specialty in germany? Beer... boring if you ask me. But there are very good - home brewn so to say - unfiltered beers that you can get in whats called a "Brauhaus" (brewery), every major city has one. Its more like a Pub with restaurant, only that they sell their own brewn beer. In Stuttgart I can recomend Sophies Brauhaus

But if I have the choice, I'll take a fresh Guiness in my lokal Irish Pub

In my opininion you will find "Brauhauses" - as Hamsta decribed them - ("Brauhäuser" is the correct plural in German BTW) in Bavaria. It's true that in Bavaria most cities have an own brewery, but not in every part of Germany.

But it is still true that many kinds of beers exist in Germany.

What I believe is very typical for Germany are the many kinds of sausages you can get. And the many kinds of bread (compared to France or Italy).

@Hamsta:Meiner Meinung nach findet man "Brauhauses" - so wie sie Hamsta beschrieben hat - (Nebenbei: "Brauhäuser" ist der korrekte Plural im Deutschen) hauptsächlich in Bayern. Es ist wahr, dass in Bayern die meisten Städte eine eigene Brauerei haben, doch das gilt nicht für ganz Deutschland.

Trotzdem stimmt es, dass es in Deutschland viele Biersorten gibt.

Ich bin der Meinung, dass die vielen Wurstsorten typisch Deutsch sind. Und die vielen Brotsorten (im Vergleich zu Frankreich oder Italien).

I don't think that a restaurant with its own brewery is local only to Bavaria. Since a realy good one is in Stuttgart And I know of another real nice one in Freiburg ("Feierling") and even in Buxtehude (near Hamburg).
What I wanted to say is that I personaly do prefer a beer when going to a pub. But not one of those big brands (like Miller or Budwiser in the US) but rather a "home brewn" form the restaurant im in (if they have one).

Erm...maybe you need coffee instead? What kind of coffee do ya'll drink around these parts? Mine is rather boring, it is just plain Maxwell House.

Filter coffee is for wimps, nothing compares to a real espresso (or two or three)... anyhew, I think I'm coffeine intolerant, must be 'cause this is my favorite T-Shirt
